From Pool Hustler to Tech Exec with Will Simpson.
An interview with Diamond-Michael Scott about You've Got to Lose to Win.
Will Simpson is an Austin native who ran poker games in the city in his twenties, in the same world of pool halls, card rooms and bookies that Texas Sharks is built on. Most of its characters are loose composites of people he crossed paths with back then, with considerable artistic license thrown in. He has spent the decades since building businesses: technology executive, Realtor, and today a fractional operator with Ten Eleven Twelve and the founder of Coheronix, an application studio. You've Got to Lose to Win is his first novel and Book 1 of Texas Sharks. Book 2, The Colonial Gentlemen's Club, tells Wild Phil's story from 1959. Will and his wife, Caroline, have three children, Sam, Hannah and Emery.
